We were often asked if we would consider offering tours of the unique areas of Tuscany and Umbria we frequently visit and that Tania features in her personal photoblog, Eurobimbo's Journey to Enlightenment .  After careful consideration, and a lot of encouragement from those who have journeyed with us to the "off the beaten path" places, we decided to start Journey to Enlightenment tours and give everyone a chance to partake of the Italian life that we have been so fortunate to experience.

We began our Italian adventure by following our dream and moving to Italy in March 2005, leaving the bustling life of southern California behind.  Tania is an American born Italian who has visited Italy almost every year of her life.  With a passion for photography and a desire to be immersed in culture and art, she has always yearned to live in the country that engendered her artistic and vivacious personality.  Keith is a techie who loves to travel, cook and learn intricate details of just about anything and was up for the challenge and change of life.  Their shared love of travel, new adventures, wine and delectable local dishes made Tuscany the perfect destination.  Porter the dog, well, he just likes food and companionship, probably in that order, but he also seems to be thoroughly enjoying his new life in Italy.

The result?  A renewed passion for living and a continual appreciation for the everyday Italian life that is so fulfilling.  That and the need to share, to give everyone a chance to experience the wonderful culture, local adventures, delicious gastronomy and amazing scenery we have come to know and love. 

The area of Tuscany we live in is an extremely picturesque part of Italy that is rich in culture and teeming with little hilltop towns and beautiful landscape just waiting to be discovered.  We have spent the last few years just "discovering"; it has been a full time and thoroughly enjoyable job!

Our goal is to share with you the hidden Italy that we have uncovered in our own continuing Italian adventure and give you the Italian encounter you have always dreamed of!
